First Loop of Lake Washington for 2008
I should write a more detailed report… but here are the headlines.
- Road the Shogun Kaze Funny Bike Fixie build for 65 miles today… No kidding… that’s a long ride on this crazy bike.
- It looked like it would be cloudy, with hints of rain… it turned out to be pouring rain… I got soaked!!!
- The bike handled incredible well considering the conditions, but I took it slow for fear of taking a spill and losing all my teeth.
- Really exciting moment #1… or Why I have brakes on my fixie… My CHAIN FELL OFF while descending a -9% grade hill. WOW! Can you imagine what that would have been like with no brakes.
- Really exciting moment #2… or Why All Car Drivers Should be Forced to ride a bicycle for 3 months before getting their Drivers License… as I was riding along Lake Washington Blvd, a nice windy two lane road with a posted speed limit of 20mph! Some j@x@$$ in a truck decided to pass a car driving 5 mph OVER the speed limit. This guy in the truck was coming right at me, taking my entire lane… I was literally run off the road into the sidewalk! Holy Moly!
- I love riding the Lake Washington Loop in the first week of the year! Even better if can be Jan 1.. but alas… it took me till the 10th! Plus… man, am I out of shape… this ride killed me… I haven’t ridden this far since Sept and my Ironman… but I love the bike… its time to ride more!
