Second Ride Back - 51 miles in Zone 1

Posted by Brad Hefta-Gaub under: Cycle.

I think I should be pretty happy about 51 miles, at 18.55mph, with an average HR of 119. This is basically sub-aerobic for me. I put out a relatively easy 156 watt average, and basically coasted along.

It was great to be out on my bike again for real. I’m glad I appear to have been able to maintain my cardio fitness by using my trainer for the last 3 months. It’s been a pain to be stuck inside during the summer! Now, its cold and rainy out. But at least I can ride again.

Half way point of my 51 mile ride. The Velodrome in Redmond.

About Brad

Me in 2002 - 200lbsThis is my fitness blog. Some people who knew me a long time ago may wonder, what the heck I'm doing writing a blog about fitness. Many of them wouldn't imagine that I'd have anything to do with fitness. You see, up until age 34, I treated my body very poorly. I sat around at home, at work, at play. I ate junk food and lots of it. And the result was what you'd expect 5'4" and 200 lbs with 36% body fat. (more...)
