CompuTrainer Random Ergs, Course, SpinScan
Posted by Brad Hefta-Gaub under: Cycle.
I had thought that I had the CompuTrainer pretty dialed in, but this morning I had a really hard time getting things working correctly.
My first problem was that I thought I had the Serial Cord plugged in, but instead I had the Cadence plugged into the PC jack of the head unit. The result was confusing and frustrating until I finally noticed.
Then once I finally got that figured out and started on the 3D course, for some reason the program kept “pausing”… I don’t know if the system just needed to be rebooted or what… but it kept acting like I was pressing the reset or pause button on the head unit. Eventually I was so frustrated I decide to just do some erg mode and ride on watts.
Then my buddy Dave came buy, and I wanted to show him some of the cool features of CompuTrainer (he’s a cyclist too). Anyway… I got to showing him the Ergo mode, 3D mode, and then SpinScan… we ended up trying to figure out what the heck spin scan was telling us… and well… I guess the main thing I learned is that my pedal stroke isn’t very efficient…
My new plan will be to include at least one workout a week where I focus on SpinScan mode and try to promote improved muscle memory for better pedal stroke efficiency.
