4,481 Miles Down - 519 to Go!

I’ve decided I should actually be counting up to 5,000 - not just the miles since I had my oh shit moment… so, the new posts will be 4,400+ miles down as I ride toward 5,000.

I need to average at least 13 miles per day, so I have started thinking of my rides in that context… How many "days" worth did I ride. So today was a one and a half day ride.

I would have liked to have ridden further but there were two issues. First, my wife needed me home by noon so she could go to a mini-reunion with her friends from college. Second, it was really rainy and cold out there. These two events conspired to limit my ride to just over 20 miles.

That said, I am getting closer…39 days left in the year, and 519 miles to go, means my new daily average requirement is: 13.3 miles. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get in 26 miles or more.

sorry that the reunion got cancelled, you could have gone on a longer ride

I was already home (or at least 1 mile from home) when I got word the reunion was canceled… plus I was cold and wet.

I’m sure you will make it especially when you want it so badly. Those double day rides will add up fast, but good luck just the same.
