Lake Washington Loop

Posted by Brad Hefta-Gaub under: Cycle.

Did the Lake Washington Loop today. My goal was to do it sockless.. Made it about 30 miles with no socks, but started to get an abrasion on the top part of my left foot from the shoe.

I was also bidding on an eBay auction for the special “final bib number” for the 2009 STP. And so right about when I couldn’t take the rubbing on my bare foot any longer, my alarm went off for 5 minutes left on my auction. I stopped and put on some socks I had brought with me, and then logged on to my eBay iPhone app to get in that final bid.

The good news is I won the auction (more on that after I’ve picked up my bib number). The bad news is that the waiting around definitely slowed me down and so when I started to ride again I couldn’t quite get back to speed.

Oh well, 52.5 miles at 18+mph isn’t bad.
