HOT 6 Miler
Ok… I am out of shape… but I’ve decided I’m going to get serious about working out every day again. I’ve been using work as an excuse… but it just doesn’t sit well for me. I need to get serious about a goal… as my original goals for 2008 have been blown apart by lack of training.
Today was a test… it was 85F and that’s darn HOT for Seattle… I made it 6 miles though… although they were pretty slow miles. I finished.

HOT 6 Miler

Karl On Sea says:
Excellent run - for someone who’s just SOOO out of shape
Hint - these things are all strictly relative. “Out of shape” for a 2 x ironman and part-time super hero doesn’t mean the same thing as it does to the rest of the population.

Good Job, six miles and out of shape. PLEEEEEASE. When you where losing the weight did you have knee problems at all? Did you know the average American male cannot run 1 mile without stopping. Pitiful but true. Anyway Goog job Bro keep up the work. Stay Dry!

Thanks Karl and Kevin, you’re both right…
I don’t want to come off sounding like I don’t appreciate the fact that I can run 6 miles and feel like it was slow and I feel out of shape from my peak performance level.
It wasn’t too long ago that I would never imagine that I could do that at all… let alone what I have accomplished.
So, if anyone reads this says… “Hey, that guy is full of himself if he thinks he’s out of shape”… let me say… I am not… but I do want to hold my self to a higher personal standard than I’ve allowed myself to operate at lately.
I need to tell myself it’s not ok to just accept feeling out of shape… I know how to make myself more in shape and feel better. And I need to execute.
Thanks for the support.
