Fixie Commute On National Bike to Work Day
I had a couple different meetings today outside of the office, so I jumped on my fixie and pedaled around town to get where I was going. The good news is, there was no way I was above zone 2, the bad news is, I probably wasn’t even in Zone 1… I’m determining that it’s hard to get to the Zone 2 training I’m supposed to be doing when I ride on the streets of Seattle. Traffic: cars or pedestrians just don’t allow me enough room to get up to an appropriate level of effort.
I did have a couple of short steep hills to power up… and on the way home, the streets were filled with cyclists… that was nice to see. All in all, it was an ejoyable ride, even if it wasn’t a workout.
Workout:
- Type: Cycle

- Total Time: 1:00:00.00
- Average Heart rate: 120
- Max Heart rate: 150

- Average Speed: 15 mph

Thanks for the comment Brad. Got my son a bike to keep up with me running. Poor lie was pooping out, but was doing a great job keeping up. I think I’m gonna get me the same one and a bike rack for my car. Would be good x-training for my knees after runs like yesterday

Hi Brad thanks for the message. Come hit the trail with me for the last month of training. Or we can wait until I survive then recover and do normal stuff!
