Fixie Commute

Rode the fixie to meet Phil for a Sweat365 power strategy session! I’ve been neglecting my fitness lately. Staying up late working on Sweat365, eating poorly and only really working out when Tyler comes over to lift. But it felt good to get out and ride the fixed gear funny bike.

I felt stronger today than I have in a long while… which with an Average speed of 17mph tells me that I’ve really lost my fitness level. Sure, 17mph might sound fast to a lot of people… but my Ironman+5miles bike split from last summer… which was 5000+ feet of climbing over 117 miles was more than 18.6mph wall clock average! So… 17mph for a 22mile flat course is pretty sad.

Thanks… But I did blow up and end up running a 5+ hour marathon split… so it was amazing… and let’s say… exhausting. :)
