Strength Training - Back workout w/ Tyler

Tyler and I are trying to get back into a regular strength training routine. He came over tonight and really wanted to do a “back” workout. I can definitely feel the fatigue in my back even as I type this post out.

I realize now that I didn’t actually pay attention to how much weight we did on some of these sets. So I’m guessing. Tyler is a big believer in the “different grips work different parts of your back” and so he loves to do essentially the same exercise with various bars and grips of different shapes and sizes. I don’t know the proper name for all these various weight machine attachments, so I’m just describing them as they look.

Workout:

  • 40 decline oblique twists to warm up
  • 10 decline situps
  • 5 pull ups
  • 4×8-12 @ 50lbs? Seated cable rows with a narrow/V-grip
  • 4×8-12 @ 50lbs? Seated cable rows with a wide “double D” grip
  • 4×12 @ 25lbs One arm dumbbell rows
  • 4×10 @ 50lbs? Wide grip Lat pull downs
  • 2×5 dips
  • 40 decline oblique twists
  • 10 decline sit ups

Workout:

  • Type: Strength Training
  • Date: 01/14/2008
  • Time: 21:30:00
  • Total Time: 1:00:00.00
