Fixie Brick - Run
Posted by Brad Hefta-Gaub under: Fitness; Run; brick; exercise; run; triathlon.
After my 19.25 mile fixie bike ride, my run went great. I ran at a pretty solid pace, and felt no knee pain. This is great considering the last couple weeks had me very worried about my general running ability. I was beginning to question whether I’d be able to handle my Ironman run.
Good news is, the Physical Therapist prescribed “IT Band Stretches”, which could also be described as a “tenderizing process” appear to be helping with my knee cap tracking issue.
I came out of the gates relatively fast (again) and noticed no pain after running the first mile in 7:03. I slowed my pace a little, mostly so that I wouldn’t burn out with my cold even more… but ended up completing the 4 miles in 29:47, including the last quarter mile which is all up hill.

Definitely feels good to not be as worried about it. I still need to stay focused and do all of my various PT exercises… but I now have faith that it will work out.
